Guru Conference and Exhibition on Atīśa Dīpaṃkara Śrījñāna
Under the Centre for Escalation of Peace, a two-day Guru Conference on the life and legacy of Atīśa Dīpaṃkara Śrījñāna was held from 21–22 November 2025, followed by an exhibition from 21–30 November 2025.
Organised in collaboration with the India International Centre, the Library of Tibetan Works & Archives, Ritinjali, and Pallavan Learning Systems, the initiative brought together scholars, practitioners, and institutions for a rich exploration of Atīśa’s enduring contributions to Buddhist thought and practice.
The conference examined Atīśa’s journey as a scholar, reformer, and spiritual leader, tracing his intellectual foundations, travels across Asia, and his role in shaping Buddhist traditions through his teachings on ethics, discipline, and the path to enlightenment.
Discussions also explored the continued relevance of his seminal work, Bodhipathapradīpa (A Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment), as well as his influence across Tibet, Bhutan, and the wider Himalayan region.
Complementing the conference, the exhibition of manuscripts, relics, and photographs offered an immersive visual narrative of Atīśa’s life and legacy.
The initiative stood as a meaningful engagement with a shared intellectual and spiritual heritage, reaffirming the relevance of these teachings in contemporary times.
