Gender Training for Kusumpur Pahari Girls: An Ongoing Journey
Recently, as part of a year-long journey and ongoing conversations on gender, social norms, patriarchy, power, and discrimination, girls from Kusumpur Pahari participated in a two-day Gender Training workshop that built on these discussions.
The workshop created a safe and supportive space for reflection, dialogue, and shared learning, enabling participants to critically examine how gender shapes everyday experiences and influences opportunities.
Through interactive methods such as storytelling, role-playing, discussions, and film screenings, the girls explored how ideas of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ are constructed, and how power dynamics operate within families and society.
As part of a longer-term learning journey, the workshop supports participants in undertaking individual projects that translate their learning into meaningful action, strengthening their voice, confidence, and leadership skills.
