Second Chance School Participates in a Cyclothon

On Easter Sunday, April 20, the students from Second Chance School and Vasant Valley School participated in the Cyclothon at Vinay Marg, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The Cyclothon was organised by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways in association with International Road Federation, India Chapter (IRF IC) to generate awareness and to highlight the importance of using cycle reflectors.

The IRF IC has initiated an intensive campaign to affix reflective tapes on bicycles to enhance their visibility, in particular during low light / night time. The students were given cycles and protective helmets. The 5 km Cyclothon started at the Central Secretariat park and went around Vinay Marg to end at the starting point. Refreshments were also provided at the end of the Cyclothon. The students were lucky as the weather was favourable and enjoyed their cycle rides in Lutyens’ Delhi, where the roads had been cordoned off for this reason.
