Update on the current donations made by ritinjali

  1. the medicine box from DL & Co is at the hotel and will be made available to the residents of choglamsar by tomorrow(at the proposed health camp, see below)
  2. the cARGO containing blankets and rice would be handed over to the Ladhak Buddhist Association(LBA) either in the evening today or tomorrow for proper distribution purposes. Will keep you posted regarding this
we are planning to setup a ritinjali health camp at choglamsar as the locals find it extremely cumbersome to travel all the way to SNM or GH and the taxi s are exhorbitant. we are going to request the hospital for a nurse who could assist me oce we setup the ritinjali health camp at choglamsar Here's a list of potential requirements that ritinjali could address
  1. portable light sources along with spare batteries(led lamps are very energy efficient)
  2. a mini bulldozer to clear the insides of the hospital(as suggested by the CMO at SNM hospital)
  3. mineral water and lots of it – its what the locals have appreciated the most and need the most as well
  4. Steel utensils
  5. community tents
  6. basic antibiotics – azithromycin & norflox-TZ in my opinion as they are quite inexpensive and work on almost everyone.
  7. 1 volunteer to help coordinate activities undertaken by ritinjali and strengthen our presence. The villagers also asked for someone who could help with the cooking and food preparation at the village. (At the earliest, if possible)
  8. some pressure jets to clean the walls in the hospital
where the medical services are concerned, they seem to be quite self sufficient at the hospitals but first aid in remote areas esp where the surviving population has collected could prove very useful we shall be visiting the camps today evening and I shall update you on that afterwards. Also if you could send me a list of what we have collected at ritinjali(The pyramid!) and how it has been packed and when it will be dispatched, I could further streamline the demand-supply chain Hope this helps Best regards biplav
