1. Candle Making
The candle making activity at the Second Chance School has been revived once again. The initial attempt to train the boys in this skill was very successful. The boys were very enthusiastic and participated whole heartedly in this activity. They were actively involved in moulding, producing, arranging and packaging the candles. Ritinjali produces 500 tea light candles every month, which are on sale at a number of prominent outlets in New Delhi.
2.
Hand-made Paper Bags
Ritinjali places great emphasis on developing the vocational skills of our beneficiaries. We seek to impart skills that not only lead to an enhanced income but which also make learning more innovative and interesting. Keeping this in mind, we started training the girls at the Vocational Centre in Kusumpur Pahari and the boys at the Second Chance School to produce hand made paper bags. This activity not only teaches them valuable skills, but also taps into their creativity, as each students is encouraged to create the bags using a variety of design blocks.
