MOHAMMADPUR AHIR
A tiny village in Haryana has been made a better place to live in as a result of a number of projects run by Ritinjali. To ensure that the children in this village have a fruitful future we have set up a study centre for them supervised by a trained teacher. Within the framework of the local Government school, a scheme has been set up to grant scholarships to students who are interested in studies but lack the means. To enable the women to earn an independent livelihood to supplement the family income, we have set up a sewing/embroidery centre. Their exquisite handiwork is sold in various centres of the city. A doctor makes regular visits to the village to run a health care program. Consultation and medicines are supplied to the needy. The rural community relies heavily on their livestock and regular visits of a veterinarian are organised. With the help of trained consultants a blue print of the sewage and disposal system has been drawn. This will ensure safe drinking water and a hygienic environment for its residents.
