Kusumpur Pahari Learning Center

I did not know how to spell words neither did I know what mathematical digits were. I could not read or write anything. I was illiterate. That was when I was sent to Ritinjali’s Kusumpur pahari learning centre. It’s been two years since I left the Kusumpur pahari learning centre.I am studying in a Govt school, and not only that I am the monitor of my class and among the best students in my class. I am proud to say that it is because of Ritinjali’s help that I have been able to reach this far and I will work much more harder to go further.”

David is just one among the many children who have been mainstreamed into regular schools through Ritinjali’s Kusumpur pahari learning centre. Ritinjali’s Learning Centre at Kusumpur pahari operates under Universalisation of Elementary Education(UEE) Mission. The Centre provides education to out-of-school children between the age group of 6 to 14 years with the objective of educating the children up to an optimum level so that they can get mainstreamed into the formal education system. In the short history of the centre. It has been able to expand its purview from being just a Learning Centre to being a hub of community activity. The Centre also doubles up as a gymnasium for the youth from the community. A Beautician course is also conducted for the women of the community.
