Gujarat Earthquake

January 26, 2001. A day that brought down a state. A moment that indeed shook the confidence of a country.

It was time when hands were required to rebuild.Ritinjali was one of the first organisations to reach Bhuj with relief. We took volunteers, tent, blankets and clothing to what were once villages.

Progressively, we partnered the people and reconstructed lives and livelihood. We also ran a Local History group programme with a local women’s group with the objective of understanding a culture that had suddenly crumbled.

It’s just one of the many things that we did. We believe that each of us must give back to society what society has so kindly given to us.
