1) The two volunteers from England who have offered their services to Ritinjali have been visiting the various Learning Centres since Wednesday. They were very impressed by our Second Chance School. They enjoyed the atmosphere as well as their interaction with the children there. They wanted to learn more about the concept of the Second Chance School and also asked whether we had such a facility for girls.
2) The two volunteers also wanted Ritinjali to be registered in the United Kingdom, so that they could take up our cause there and work at raising donations for us. They informed us that it was important for us to be registered as this would enable them to approach organizations like the GAP foundation, which could help us secure funds.
3) A weekly timetable was formulated to regulate the activities of the two volunteers. This was to ensure that they visited all the learning centres and made optimum use of the time spent there.
4) Ranjeet informed us that for the time being, we could use his room at Kusumpur Pahari to conduct the classes to be held by the volunteers.
5) Ranjeet and Mukesh also submitted to Mrs. Tyagi and Mrs. Dhar, the names of all the boys who are currently using the two Gymnasium facilities at Kusumpur Pahari, and for whom membership identity cards will be issued.
6) Mrs. Dhar will be meeting with Ms. Bhasin and Ms. Renu Kaul to discuss Ritinjali's involvement in Darbhanga House as well as to talk about formulating a two year report on this project.
7) Ms. Benu Khanna spoke to Mrs. Rita Ray. We will have to further follow up on the UEE, and on being granted the permission to restart the Leanring Centres.
8) Kalikuppam - We sent a fax to the Government of Pondicherry regarding the donation and the reciept we should recieve. Ms. Rekha has been asked to follow up on this.
9) Members and volunteer lists to be sent to the Learning Centres so that they can be invited to be a part of the various activities and competitions taking place.
10) Volunteers are also required to conduct various workshops for the students at the different Learning Centres.
11) Mr. Pathak was supposed to meet with Mrs. Dhar and Ashish to finalize Ritinjali's budget of its various projects, but this meeting has not been arranged yet.
12) There are around 10 people at the Home for the Old People. We need to involve volunteers so that they can go and visit and give company to these people.
13) The two volunteers have been facing certain problems in communicating with the teachers at Nathupur Pahari and the Dalil Ekta Camp. The teachers at these two learning centres can communicate only in Hindi and this creates a communication gap, with the volunteers not being able to participate more actively.
14) Mr. Ashok Jha, the Dalil Ekta camp teacher has not been taking much initiative in planning activities for the two volunteers, instead he waits for us to take charge.
