Beauty Culture and Health Care

A new student has been enrolled. She was put through the paces of threading and basic hairstyling.

VOCATIONAL CENTRE II

The community students learnt how to draft, cut and stitch patiala suits, petticoats, salwars with belt, blouses and children's frocks.

Rashmi Chaudhary, the teacher at the Vocational Centre states with pride:

“I joined the Tailoring and Dressmaking course at Ritinjali in 2004-2005. Initially I wasn't interested in the classes, but with the encouragement of my teacher, Balwinder, and my parents, I developed a keen interest in the course and secured the 2 nd position in the examination. I was offered a job at this Vocational Centre and I am now employed here as a teacher. This experience has encouraged me to motivate my younger sister to join the same course and I hope that she will be empowered just like me. A special thanks from the bottom of my heart to my parents and my teacher at Ritinjali.”

SECOND CHANCE SCHOOL

The boys who attend school have gone home for the summer vacation.

The boys of the Bakery and Confectionery Centre are progressing satisfactorily.

On the 10 th of May, the Second Chance School boys, along with the Night School boys and the NIOS Computer students went for a picnic to the Children's Park at India Gate and also for an educational trip to the Nehru Planetarium and the Nehru Museum. They were quite enthralled by the celestial display at the Planetarium and enjoyed a hearty lunch at India Gate, where they also played cricket with gusto.

Anika Rana, a volunteer visits the Second Chance School to teach the boys English. Her focus is to equip them with functional English, to help them communicate more effectively at the work place.
